I've been kinda thinking about this for a while, but Monday's episode really confirmed it for me. I think Penny is going to end up falling for Sheldon.

I know, on the surface it sounds crazy. They both get annoyed with each other easily and sometimes can't stand to be in each others company. But consider that sometimes the strongest love starts as mutual dislike. I think she'll eventually come to see the benefits of having a smart, gentle boyfriend. As for Sheldon's part, he seems to crave having a caring person in his life, and Penny does fit the bill.

Whether or not he wants to bother maintaining a relationship, maybe having kids, we have yet to find out. I could picture that happening if it turns out Penny has an eccentric uncle back home who turns out to be a genius; then he would think of her as carrying the genes for intelligence and thus a potential genetic match. He already thinks her healthy ovums are good enough for Leonard Nimoy's DNA, after all...

under normal circumstances I don't think Sheldon would go for it. He seems pretty happy and fulfilled with his five friendships. Maybe if he suffered an emotional crisis and needed to rely on Penny.
